Ibiza is committed to sustainability and the preserving its natural, cultural and social environment. The island works to protect its fragile and valuable territory, promoting a responsible tourism model that ensures its conservation and quality of life, both now and in the future.
Sustainability in Ibiza is reflected in the protection of natural areas, the conservation of the coastline and the —particularly the Posidonia oceanica seagrass beds —, the responsible management of resources, and the promotion of historical and cultural heritage. Local initiatives, conservation projects, and awareness campaigns invite both residents and visitors to actively participate in respecting the island.
Travelling sustainably in Ibiza means choosing mindful experiences, supporting local businesses, respecting the natural environment and enjoying the destination in a balanced way. It is a way of discovering the island with respect, connecting with its Mediterranean essence, and contributing to ensure that Ibiza remains an authentic, vibrant, and welcoming place for future generations.
Ibiza Circular: More Sustainable Mobility to Enjoy the Island
Ibiza Circular is an initiative of the Consell Insular d’Eivissa (Island Council of Ibiza) to promote more sustainable and responsible mobility on the island. By regulating vehicles and encouraging alternatives such as public transport, cycling, and walking, it helps reduce congestion, protect the natural environment, and improve the experience for residents and visitors.
